Ecology Service Learning Project: Students Take Over the School

OK, so they haven't taken over the school (at least, not yet), but they are taking charge of their own learning in the latest project of Mr. Bursch's Biology 1-2 classes. Some students are transforming areas of the school with food gardens or gardens based on native California ecosystems. Others are showing their peers how to cook healthy meals using local, seasonal ingredients. Another group has plans to simultaneously beautify the campus and educate their peers on ecology topics by creating portable murals that can be moved around the campus. And that's not all.
